Careers

Hampshire Futures provide independent careers advice, information and support with college applications, as well as information about technical education qualifications and apprenticeships to our young people.

We are developing our database of workplaces and links to local providers including those which we use for work experience. We strive to provide work place visits from year 7-11, as well as have visitors to the school to discuss their careers. This forms a part of the PSHE curriculum.

Opportunities for voluntary work experience in a range of sections through the Personal Development Programme (PDP) where students work towards ASDAN Accreditation. This area of study includes experience of interviews, application forms and CVs.

We have developed links with Enterprise Coordinators and they provide information to our students, parents and carers through information sharing.

Careers education is planned for across all subjects and referred to within lessons as well as access to displays linked to subject areas in all subject classrooms to ensure our young people have as much exposure to the opportunities available to them as possible.

The school uses The Gatsby Benchmarks to assess suitability, quality and areas for development in the school’s careers offer.
